Australia’s housing market is showing signs of cooling, according to a leading economist, but Perth is set to buck the trend.
ANZ expects capital city housing prices to rise 7.3 per cent in 2024, before slowing to 5.5 per cent in 2025. But outcomes will differ across the country, ANZ economist Madeline Dunk said on Friday.
Prices are currently up 18 per cent year-to-date in Perth and over 10 per cent in Adelaide and Brisbane. ANZ is forecasting Perth prices to rise 25 per cent by the end of the year, while Brisbane and Adelaide are forecast to grow around 15 per cent.
